Arrival in Trondheim by other transport
Are you arriving by plane, train, or bus from outside Trøndelag? Read about how to continue your journey with AtB.
Remember to download the AtB app!
We recommend that everyone download the AtB app for travel information, service updates, and ticket purchases.
From Trondheim Airport Værnes
During the World Ski Championships, we recommend taking the train with SJ NORD or the Værnesekspressen airport bus to and from Trondheim. AtB’s regular bus lines do not have the capacity to accommodate luggage.
Airport bus
Værnesekspressen runs frequently and is scheduled to align with all flights to and from Værnes. You cannot use an AtB ticket. The easiest way to purchase a ticket is through the Værnesekspressen app or with a bank card on board the bus.
Train
The train runs between Værnes and Trondheim central station. You can purchase a ticket through the AtB app (buy a single bus ticket for zone A). If you are traveling by train outside of zone A, you must purchase a ticket via Entur.
From Trondheim central station
If you arrive by bus or train at Trondheim central station, such as with Vy express or FRAM Ekspress, you must purchase your ticket through their services. From Trondheim central station, you have many bus options to continue your journey.
From Heimdal station
If you arrive by train at Heimdal station, you can continue your journey with bus lines 1, 2, or 16, all of which stop at Husebytunet.
Trondheim express boat terminal
If you arrive by express boat, it’s a short walk to Trondheim central station, where you have many onward travel options by bus. You can also take line 25 from the Trondheim express boat terminal stop to Trondheim city center.
From the regions in Trøndelag by bus
If you arrive by bus from the regions, there will be several natural drop-off points and interchange points connecting you to the lines that go to Granåsen.
