AtB app

Terms and conditions for the AtB app.

Passenger responsibilities

With a ticket in the AtB app, the passenger to whom the ticket belongs is responsible for:

  • ensuring sufficient network coverage during the purchasing process to complete the transaction in full. Data traffic must be enabled during ticket inspections so that the ticket and inspection code can be displayed upon request.
  • holding a valid ticket for the journey upon boarding.
  • ensuring the mobile phone functions properly, the screen is readable, and the device has sufficient battery capacity for the duration of the journey, enabling the display of a valid ticket. Failure to present a valid ticket will be regarded as traveling without one.

If you have purchased tickets for others using your mobile phone, you are responsible for holding those tickets. Therefore, your phone must be available for the entire journey for all passengers whose tickets you have purchased. Uninstalling the app will also delete the tickets. We strongly advise against uninstalling the app if you have active tickets, as you will be unable to present a valid ticket.

AtB’s transport regulations apply at all times throughout the journey.

Payment and security

You can pay with Visa, Mastercard, or Vipps in the AtB app.

Vipps

All transactions made with Vipps are processed by Vipps. If you have selected Vipps as your default payment method, the Vipps app will open automatically when you proceed to payment. You will then be prompted to log in to Vipps as usual. The AtB app will request access to Vipps, which you must approve. Vipps will use your selected payment method, whether account or card, as specified in the Vipps app. Information about your account, payment cards, or other personal details will not be stored in the AtB app or by AtB.

Bank Card

All bank card transactions (Visa or Mastercard) are processed by Nets. Nets provides payment, card, and information solutions in the Nordic countries and offers a secure electronic payment solution. Nets ensures that all account information is stored securely and in compliance with the regulations of the card companies. No payment card information is stored in the application or by AtB.

Privacy policy

Our privacy policy explains how AtB collects and processes personal data about our customers and/or users of public transport services. The policy meets the requirements effective in Norway from August 1, 2018, following the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the industry standard for handling personal data related to e-ticketing (hereinafter referred to as the «industry standard»).
